Biography Rebecca Barnard:
Rebecca Barnard comes from a rich musical family history and grew up listening to Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong. She joined Stephen Cummings as a backing singer, where she met her husband, Shane O’Mara. Barnard started songwriting, and Rebecca’s Empire was born. They became one of Australia’s best-loved bands. Now Rebecca returns with her own very personal record.
Biography Ross McLennan:
The demise of Snout, the great Australian band which Ross McLennan had led for 10 years, was marked with sadness and a certain amount of celebration on November 8, 2002. The packed-out Snout farewell gig had the air of a rambunctious wake - Ross said later, "It felt like being at my own funeral, which was cool" - and concluded with Ross being carried aloft by the crowd and dancing on the ceiling of Melbourne's Rob Roy Hotel. Longtime fans were reminded of just how many great songs have come from the pen of Ross McLennan over the years. As the elated and somewhat confused crowd dispersed, someone made the sombre prediction: "I don't think we've heard the last of that dude".
